RUMUNA is a student-driven, non-political organization dedicated to empowering young minds with knowledge of international relations, diplomacy, and global affairs. Since its founding, RUMUNA has been committed to nurturing leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration among students of Rajshahi University and beyond. Through initiatives like weekly sessions, workshops, and our flagship national conference NBMUN and RUMUN, we create opportunities for students to sharpen their skills in public speaking, research, negotiation, and diplomacy. But more importantly, we strive to build a community where ideas are shared, friendships are formed, and a sense of responsibility towards the world is fostered.

RUMUNA, that is #Rajshahi_University_Model_United_Nations_Association is the first ever MUN Club in North Bengal. On October 1, 2013 it was founded by seven intelligent and enthusiastic students of University of Rajshahi.
Our Founders
Embarking on a transformative journey, RUMUNA emerged as North Bengal's inaugural MUN Club on October 1, 2013. Guided by the visionary leadership of Chowdury Emad and Arsad Aurko, seven brilliant students from the University of Rajshahi pioneered a legacy of intelligence and enthusiasm.

With great pride, I reflect on the incredible journey of the Rajshahi University Model United Nations Association (RUMUNA), which began with a bold vision in 2013. What started as an aspiration to inspire young minds, foster diplomacy, and cultivate the leaders of tomorrow has grown into a legacy of impactful events and remarkable achievements.
In the past decade, RUMUNA has continuously proven its commitment to excellence. From co-organizing the UNYSAB MUN 2014 to exclusively hosting the North Bengal Model United Nations in 2015 and 2024 and proudly hosting the first National Model United Nations Conference in 2016, our association has left an indelible mark on the MUN community. Each year, we have strived to elevate the quality and reach of our conferences, consistently delivering opportunities for students to engage with global issues and develop leadership skills.
The journey of RUMUNA has not only been about hosting conferences but also about creating a space where diplomacy, collaboration, and mutual respect thrive. The 6th edition of RUMUM in 2022 was a testament to the growth and dedication of our members, and I do not doubt that the years ahead will bring even greater accomplishments.
As an advisor, it fills me with immense pride to see how far we’ve come and the lasting impact we continue to have on young leaders. I look forward to supporting each of you as we build on this incredible legacy, shaping the future of diplomacy and leadership together.

Fahimul Islam Khan Rafi
Chairman of the Trustee Board
Fahimul Islam Khan Rafi is the current Chairman of the Trustee Board of RUMUNA, where he continues to uphold the organization’s legacy of fostering diplomacy, leadership, and global understanding among students. His journey with RUMUNA began during his student life, where he demonstrated remarkable leadership skills. He served as the General Secretary in 2016–2017 and also held the role of Deputy Secretary General of RUMUN 2016. These formative experiences shaped his vision of empowering young leaders through critical thinking, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.
